Okay you IT gurus......

I have a friend who owns a business and wants to install a in house Chat server so his remote office users can Instant Message each other in the other offices and in the main office.

He does not want users to sign up for the normal ones like AOL, Yahoo or MSN messenger but wants to host the server in house.

Any one know a software package I can get to accomplish this???
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store NOT a government agency!

It depends, there are a few out there.  I know that if they have a email server internally then they can typically have a IM service setup.  It's also easy to just block any outside IM traffic through the firewall most places have setup.  I know Lotus Notes does, Microsoft exchange Server does.   But other than that, no.   I would check with your friend and see what they use for email and go from there.
