I dont doubt the mexican military is helping a smuggling operation.   Then our big companys are all putting factorys down there paying a few dollars a day in wages to do what we used to do here. You'll notice there are no unions or revolts down there. First time that happens I am sure someone gets killed.  Keep the mexican government happy and paid and the world will turn. All the while our jobs are going there and our country is being poisened by drugs smuggled in.

Yeah the poor wants Mexico pot, the rich wants Mexico coke. Well its from South America but it comes right up though Mexico.  I was all for Pat Buchanan plan on building a wall across the Mexican border when he was running for President back in 2000 .

Mexico is so screwed up-to be a cop or many other government jobs you have to be born in Mexico. Thats why some are dishonest , its like a big gang the police force . Your dad is a cop so when you get old you can be a cop. Not that you are the best person for the job, just who you know and where you were born.

Yes their wages are low, but thats not our fault. In Japan that country has nothing-no oil, silver , lumber, etc. but those people have high paying jobs cause they make stuff people all over the world want and need. The people are well school and can do many things. In Mexico lots of the people can't even read and write too good. Its not all their fault, many have to work at a young age. If Mexico help the people more maybe things would get better but nothings changing that why they want to come here.

I went to Acapulco last March and had fun and got a great sun tan but I am not going back. The police- hundreds of them- all carry machine guns and the place is smoky and dirty. The public buses just pour smoke out on the roads, people all speak Spanish-yeah I know its my dumb ass fault not knowing anything but English-and its still cost alot to fly there. Where I might go this winter I am not too sure but Mexico is not on my list.

this is why during the immigration protests and whatnot, Fox and the Mexican government stayed relatively quiet. they didn't want anyone to bring it up.

When I was in Acapulco I seen on TV-with English subtitles-about those South American guys who sneak in to Mexico with drugs on their way to the USA. They bride their way in with money or drugs sometimes and ride the trains north. They are call the "Nobody's" cause nobody wants them or cares about them. It was sad watching it. Some of us have no idea how good of a life we have comepared to them.

That's a piece of cake. Make being in the US illegally a felony. The mandatory sentence is five years in the pen, then deported.

OR....you can choose a work program (building a lovely fence) for two years, then deported.

Uh uh no oversea's for me. Thinking of Jamaica but I am getting kind of old just to hang out with a bunch of pot heads. I never been there but thats what I seen others say , theres weed everywhere  -not behind close doors like other places. Still might go there but I have my doubts.

Thanks-I have too price it out first and then see how I am doing in a few months. If I go it be in March-don't care if its spring break, not that old yet-went to Miami a few years ago in Dec. came back home it was 10 below zero-I never felt so cold. If I wait till March then its 45 -50 degrees when I get back. Yeah I know thats freezing to you.

i read the logs of visitors to the condo where we stayed and the visitors in march bitched that it rained there their entire stay of two weeks except one day... rain in hawaii isn't really "rain" it's more like a water-fall everywhere.

I wouldn't want my wife driving east of El Paso anymore. I-10 runs right through El paso and is the major highway to get to the real texas. We even have FT. Bliss in the middle of El Paso and they still do the incursions.

The powerful "Narco" Joaquin "el Chapo" Guzman (Sinaloa cartel) is a rival of the Zetas' employer Osiel Cardenas (gulf cartel, currently in prison). These two cartels are waging a war for the territory "plaza" of the city of Nuevo Laredo.

Los Zetas are known to be extremely violent and have been blamed for an outbreak of violence along the border.

Maybe we should take a lesson from the Israelis........Storm the border with the 3 Infantry & The 101st Airborne Division, Smash everything that has to do with the Mexican Govt & the Cartels for 100 miles and establish a new border......a border with no towns/cities on the other side for miles. 

And then make that buffer zone a wildlife sanctuary......Introduce African species such as Zebras & Wilderbeasts.....and all the BIG CATS who prey on them. I wonder if that would cut down on people wandering across the desert trying to get in to the US. Oh, and as far as the drug runners/mules & the people who help others get into the US for bookoo $$$$$$,  Put a dead or alive price on their heads and sell tags to all the local hunters & ranchers.

Yea , it all sounds extreme, far-fetched & out of the question.........But take a good look at the world around us. Much of the world thinks of us as nothing more than a schoolyard bully. There is no doubt that our military can walk the walk........its our leaders in both parties that have let us down time and again. Since Viet Nam, The leadership of this country has failed us all when it comes to taking care of the "real" little bullies. And now, 42 years later , after the first American Boot hit the mud in South East Asia, our fighting men & women [and the public] are paying the price for the spinless leadership that we have chosen to send to Washington.


I Wonder what Jefferson, Lincoln, Teddy, FDR, Eisenhower or Reagan would say about the State of our Union??

The immigration problem is one of my biggest gripes with the current administration.  And I voted for it twice.  The fact that we used to at least make an attempt to arrest illegals and now let most go free rather than deport is abhorrent to me.  I have nothing against mexicans, as long as they obey our laws and attempt to get in the country the legal way.  But if you come in illegally they should all be sent back to the furthermost southern point in mexico rather than the northern border where they turn around and try again within a week. 

We need several walls along the mexican border, there ought to be a 15 foot high chain link fence topped with razor wire, then 30 yards of minefields in front of a 20 foot tall concrete wall (6 feet thick) also topped with razor wire, electified with monitoring that ups the voltage if anything is noted within range.  it would allow us to do something with the millions of mines we dig up in afghanistan and around the world, and after the first 20 or so blow up there will be alot fewer trying to walk across.  Leave the bodies to rot on the border as a warning to others that wish to try. 

We tried the amnesty solution in the 80s and that did not work, in fact it only made the problem worse.  Anyone that wants to give amnesty should be voted out of office. 

Regarding the armed excursion, it has been reported on repeatedly over the past 2 years on various occasions, but the goverment isn't doing anything about it.  I find that disturbing.
