If it was listed on Wednesday - e-bay had a 50 cent sale going on, all e-bay motor parts were only 50 cents to list what ever the price was started at, so he might be just taking a 50 cent chance on selling it.

Again this might be a way for him to avoid the extra costs if somebody offers $500-$600 for it and he sells it off e-bay.

great, this is an awsome thread, as i stumbled on it by accident.  was looking at my RT/SE yesterday after being in tucked away for 6 months or so.

yes it does have a AM/FM style radio like this one:

although its not nearly as nice looking as that one.   is there a place that restores these radios?  id at least like mine to LOOK nice...i was planning on doing a custom sound setup under the seat or something w/ a modern radio and CD player.

myk

Psh.  Save the money and buy a set of kick ass heads...

I used to pass on those when they were only $250. Now they're way to much $$ for me. A buddy of mine was offered a '70 charger body for the am/fm thumb wheel in his '69.

Yeah I e-bay it and get a new radio they are so much better and if done right some look cool too.

You don't think it'd lessen the value of the carif you decide to e-bay it too?

Here's a site that fixes old car radios and even updates the electronics.

http://www.turnswitch.com/

I sent them my dead '69 AM 8-track radio and they converted it into an AM/FM and fixed the 8-track.  There is also a connector in the back that allows me to hook up another sound source, like an MP3 player, CD player, etc.  The nice thing is that it looks totally stock (with an added LED indicator) but functions like a brand new radio.

I plan on putting a hidden stereo/amp/speaker system in mine, without modifying any of the stock panels, I may make a custom console to mount in it eventually and put most of the components inside.  Hard to believe that a factory am/fm radio is now worth more than I spent on the whole car originally, but then again I've seen a couple nos trim pieces that went for close the amount i spent back in 78 for the whole car.

I'm glad that I never cut holes in the footwells for speakers, I know at one time I had planned to.  My rear package tray has two speaker holes in it, but it only came with one from the factory that i know of.
