I removed my vinyl because it was bubbling, I was expecting to find some rust holes.  It isn't much better. I can at least scrape off all the rust with a screw driver and get down to bare-shiny metal. Somebody put a sunroof on it that it what probably did it, it leaks.

It looks as if your sunroof may have exacerbated the problem, but vinyl tops are just moisture traps anyway. I've peeled off two, both back in the 80s, and they were both rusty underneath. One was my long gone '70 Barracuda and one was my current Charger.

At least there aren't holes yet.  You caught it before it got worse and that's a lucky break for you.

I'll be going there soon, not real excited about what I may find. I hope to be as lucky as you Bordin. Nice clean looking car. You putting to vinyl back on?

bordin34

I dont want to put it back on but it depends how good I can smooth out the sheet metal and get rid of everything.

It's too bad they cause so many problems because they look so good on the Chargers, IMO.

I want to put it back, but i know I will have to re-do it. Does anybody know of a place that make repro sunroofs?
