Cracked Bar?

I was taking pictures of my transmission VIN number when I saw this. it looks like its cracked, almost in half. Does anybody know what this does. Is it the steering linkage?

It's okay.  It's an adjustable tie rod sleeve and it is supposed to be like that.  If you clean off the grease, you'll find that split goes all the way from end to end.
