Would you give all or some of those cars in your signature picture?

I am sure you could round up $40K selling some of those.

You say you'd give anything to have a Hemi car - there you go!

ok let me rephrase.. anyone want to buy a 15 month old little girl??? only negative is she kinda

You are correct.  It was for sale on ebay last year and the starting bid was $50,000.  so it looks like they are knocking off $10,000 to move it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it.

Even though there is not much there and prices are stalling or falling, nothing would surprise me. This hobby is so insane a clone can go for more than an original, irregardless of eithers condition. A steering wheel can fetch more than the car it came from - on and on. And even though its listed $10 K less - if the right person spots it for the first time.........

i wouldnt mind that car either... Trav I'm sure your daughter wouldnt mind you selling 8 to buy one that once restored will pay her way through any college in the US. I'll take one off your hands...

Maybe I am wrong,  but didn't the hemi cars get the Dana 40 rear axle and not the 8 3/4?  If that is the case, I can't see how he can say his car was a hemi car and still retain the 8 3/4 axle.  Please advise me if I am wrong.

DANA  is standard equipment for a  4 speed  hemi
8 3/4  standard  on a  auto  hemi  & the dana is an option .
the guy said it was converted to a four speed at some time , so that explanes the 8 3/4

:iagree:

Not only was the 8-3/4 standard with the 426/727, but the SureGrip was even an extra cost option   :o

IIRC, the axle and transmission combos were the same for the 440 and the Hemi.

if the fender tag and vin# on the dash match the rest of he car, i seems like a pretty good deal to me. heck look at hemi charger prices and tell me you couldn't make a hell of a profit with a forty thousand resto on it.

bullit68

you're not going to restore that charger for 40k.although it seems solid,it's missing a lot.but i do think its worth it in todays market.my how things have changed in the last couple of years.2 yrs and 4 months ago, there was a 69 charger rt 426 hemi 4 spd car(body only)on the old charger site for sale.he was asking 12-14k for it.i remember the banter well,it went like"this guy is crazy...theres no way its worth that....its only worth 5-6k  etc...etc...etc.i responded by saying its worth what he gets for it.if you dont step up to the plate at some time, you'll never have a real hemi charger.well i'm glad i did,its sitting in my yard right now,price...14k.
