This is kinda funny but not really to me. I wrecked my 1st '73 in 1988 and I saved some of the parts including the bulge hood, at my Dad's house in Va. Anyway, 15 years went by and I asked him about it and he said he gave it to some guy in the neighborhood (couldn't remember name) that owned a blue 2nd gen. Go figure? I said, gave it! He said, yeah it had been so long I didn't think you wanted it anymore. Needless to say I was floored but it's my Dad, whatcha gonna do right? So if you are out there, and own a 68-70 and used to live in a small town in Va.(Ivor), where some old dude gave your a black bulge hood of a '73, you really scored one on me! Good luck with the hood.

Sounds like the story I heard recently about the idiot relative of a friend of mine who threw out an Air-Grabber hood because he was annoyed with it being in the way. Not saying your dad is an idiot but this guy sure was.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Tell your dad, Thanks for the hood.  It looks good on my car.

Just kidding.   :icon_smile_blackeye:

Did you talk to your dad about the parts anytime within the 15 year period :icon_smile_question:

15 years is a long time if you didn't express any interest in the parts.

I have to say I have thrown away alot of my sons shit over the years.  Never a bulge hood.

I learned to get the stuff I care about away from my dad a loooooooooooooooooong time ago.

My dad hated my Charger being parked in his back yard for two years. Moved it to my Uncles house where it slept for 10 years.
When my dad started giving my Uncle a hard time about it I knew it was time to move it to my house and lock it up in the garage. Needless to say my dad is not a car person.

Hood?  That's nothing.  My mom GAVE a running driving B5 BLUE 4-speed '69 Charger R/T (for 3k) to my sister's husband then he dumped her a month later....   Now THAT stings.  FAMILY!

I had something similar...but worse happen. :icon_smile_angry:
I was selling two Barracudas, a 1969 340 and a 1970 383. A package deal.
The cars were at my parents' house, where I also had a whole garage full of NOS parts, engines, transmissions, trim...the works.
Dad told me he wanted his parking spaces back...so it had to go.
A guy came along one day when I wasn't there, made my Dad an offer on the two cars (a lowball one at that), and my Dad took his offer, without even knowing what I was asking for them.

Then my Dad says "You want a bunch of old parts", and took them to the garage.....
I lost the works, ten years of saving, buying, wheeling-dealing, and scrounging.

What's ya gonna do?
