I'm considering purchasing a complete, running 440 and trans from a motorhome for less than $1,000; I want to put it in my 72 charger w/318 & 904. Is this a good swap? What will I need to change?? Any help or referral to links are appreciated. Also..price too high? Thanks!!

it depends what class motorhome , the small C class have basically a bolt in engine the bigger ones have different wtaer pumps & pulley systems , so the whole pulley & accessory system woudl need to be replaced , the exhaust manifolds do not work either

I performed a simular swap out on my '68.  Not sure if this applies to your year or not, but the biggest items I see you needing are:

A) A big block drive shaft. (727 is bigger and longer than a 904)
B) A radiator big enough to cool the 440.
C) Make sure you get the power steering pump and mounting brackets.
D) Exhaust manifolds. (or headers)

Everything else was pretty much drop in and bolt up.  Even the wiring matched up in my case.

Sounds encouraging....as long as a can use the 440's trans, I think I found a good swap. Thanks for the info!!
