Gas petal intsall??

I replaced my floors 7 years ago and I don't remember how the gas petal goes back on. I know I have to drill holes for the two studs. What confuses me is the where the petal attaches to the metal lever. There is a hole ate the end of the lever that looks like it needs a cotter pin but there is no metal on the plastic petal. Any pics would be great, thanks for your help, Thanks

It doesnt attach to metal lever. It just lays on top of it so when you press it, lever goes down pulling throttle cable
