Can someone with a 68 or 69 tell me what there headlight vacuum pods are doing when there in the collapsed (headlight door open) position.
What I'm asking is, do either of your pods act like there magnetized when there in the collapsed position? Is this normal? I have some that stick so hard they will not close unless I push down on the door.

I remember somewhere on here there was a post about the vacuum pods for the headlight doors having a magnet in them.  If I recall correctly, the magnet used in the 68's were slightly stronger than the ones used in 69.

Can anyone confirm this?

They really stick. And it seems to me it would take allot of vacuum pressure to get it move.

make sure that when you are trying to move them that you take off the vac lines as they can prevent it from moving smoothly- you are trying to pressurze the lines back to the switch and vac can.

Tracked down the problem to a cracked hose. :eyes: Now the doors close even after I shut the engine off. Thanks everyone for your support.
