LOL - that's classy  ::)

Seriously, though.  Please, put them side by side as often as possible!!  I'm can't see how anyone could prefer a camaro, assuming the challenger retains its appearance...

Run and hide, Dr. Z! Cancel all plans for performance cars built by DCX! Back to square one -- four door four-bangers in everything!

Big Deal!!

The Mustang has been kicking their butt in sales for 2+ years while they sit on the sidelines and go bankrupt.

I don't know why GM is parading it around like that, they haven't even said whether or not they're even making it, have they? At least DCX has finally decided to say they're making it.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

yup, they are going to build it. here is a blurb from one press release...

"Oshawa, Ontario — General Motors of Canada Limited President Arturo Elias has announced that the Oshawa, Ontario car plant has been selected to manufacture one of GM's most anticipated new vehicles, the Chevrolet Camaro.

Early production versions of the new Camaro are expected at the end of 2008, with sales starting in the first quarter of 2009."

Now the Oshawa plant needed a $780 million makeover. The combined Federal and Provincial "donation" is $380 million so far. The St. catherine's plant in Quebec used to make the Camaros and Firebirds. Guess Ontario's deeper pockets made GM reconsider where they are building the Camaro.

Actually it's a pretty ballsy and innovative move by GMC to interrupt your sales party. I would of just ignore it or made a comment like "there goes the Challenger's wannabe that needs to be trailered around!"  :D

I my opinion, the diehard Mopars will buy the Challengers and the Chevy diehards will by the Camaro's,  simple equation. Some might change lines, but the numbers will most likely be equal if the pricing remains somewhat equal.

That has to be the greatest advertising feat/slap in the face I've heard about in a looooong time...

Of course, the Camaro passing on its own power would've been better, but those concepts probably don't run as well as they look...

Actually, the best would have been a pair of them escorting the truck.  A single car, concept or otherwise, just doesn't catch attention like a mobile billboard on the back of a truck, so just the cars driving might not have caught much notice.

Sounds like a page out of the Chrysler playbook. ::)

Anyone remember a certain "99 concept vehicle that was paraded around all over the place before being shelved? :D

Whats up with GM?!?!?

First they force Mopar out of the Power Tour, then they make a point to cover up the Dodge sign at the track on the Power Tour, and now they pull this pansy a$$ stunt.  I hope the Challenger kicks the Camaro's butt at the track and in sales figures.   :flame:  :flame:

GM must really feel threatened by the new Challenger to keep pulling crap like this!  ^-^

I heard the only reason GM shut down the Camaro/Firebird in the first place was because the plant where they built them was so worn out and shoddy that it was close to being condemned anyway. Rather than rebuild the plant or build a new one they just opted to drop the two models altogether.

People debate this one all the time in GM circles, but that's supposedly a big part of it.

The F-body wasn't selling, wasn't designed well for modern buyers, and was being built at a plant that they wanted to leave.  Killing the car would allow them out of the deal they had with the Canadian gov't and the UAW over the rights to build the F-body.

DCX is kicking both GM & Ford's collective asses right now.  I don't seem to recall DCX doing all mass layoffs lately either...

Well, that shows how much I've been paying attention lately. :blush2:
