Greetings everyone.  I own a 1969 Charger R/T in which I just converted the front drum brakes to disc brakes.  Due to the brake calipers I must now use a minimum of a 15 inch wheel.  I prefer using the 15 inch wheel rather than the larger modern wheels.  I would like to use Goodrich Radial T/A P255/60R15's all around the car with 7.5 inch American Racing Wheels Torque Thrust II.  The 7.5 inch wheel I am confident will not be a problem.  Does anyone know for sure if the P255/60R15 will fit in the front without any fender well or suspension clearance problems?  There appears to ample space under the front wheel wells but I dont' want to buy the tires and wheels and then have them not fit.

BTW, I did use the search feature and found lots of hits about tire sizes, I just didn't see the info I was looking for.

Any help will be appreciated.

yea 15x7 with 255/60/15 are popular 2 use on 2nd gen cars for that stocker looks altho people usually use magnum 500's to retain that stock look, even more popular with the 2nd gen cars is 235/60/15 up front on 15 x 7 and 275/60/15 on 15 x 8 out back-MATT

My 68 RT has Torq Thrust IIs 7'" wide front and 8" wide rear.  The front tires are 245s insted of 255s but they fit with plenty of room for the bigger tires.  The rear tires are 275s and they fit a little tight.

I'm actually thinking of 17's on my 71 Charger. Not convinced yet, but I've seen a couple of old Mustangs with 17's and they really fill up that "blank" space.

On my 69 Charger, I run 245/60-15 on the front with 8 inch wide Torque Thrust II's. The fronts have 4 1/4 inch back spacing. The rears are 275/60-15 on 8 inch wide Torques with 3 3/4 back spacing. Move the rear back spacing to 4 1/2 inch and you will fit 275 even better. For 10 inch wide rims in the rear and 325/50-15 go with the 5 inch back spacing. There is alot of wheel well to work with.....GO BIG.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

I currently have 255/60 x 15 on 8 1/2 x 15 Torque Thrust D's with I think 4 1/2 " back spacing. With the torsion bars wound down the tyres rub on the wheel lip mouldings on full lock but are ok with the torsion bars wound up (but don't look as good) may try 7 x15 wheels with the 255/60's to see if it makes a difference.

I have four 7x15 torquethrust `d`s and i am looking to swap+cash two for two wider ones for the rear (i want to fit slicks for racing). they are in as new condition if you are interested. i am in the u.k. also, they were fitted with 255 60 15 all round when i had the charger with no rubbing problems whatsoever, but i changed to 235 70 15 up front and 275 60 15 out back
let me know
