I have been trying to get a 5.7L Hemi from a 2004 Durango into my 69 Charger, my plan was to use the original tranny, wiring and computer. Now i have given up with that wiring and the all, i gave it a try but my idea got messed up. Anyway after that intro, i have a buyer on it for 5k and i can buy a 5.7L carb Hemi crate for 5k, but since i have herd so mush horrorstoreis about those 426 Hemi, is the 5.7L Crate as bad as the other?

And just for the sake i post a pic :icon_smile_big:

no - the new generation hemis have nowhere near the isses the older 426 crates had...      the new batches of 426 crates supposevely have all the issues and quality control deals taken care of
1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

1964 Dodge Polara 500 - 440 / 4-speed / 3.91 Sure Grip

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / A-518 / 3.23 Sure Grip

myk

I would believe that the newer 5.7 crate motors will be of the same quality as the engines that are being installed at the factories.  After all, these are probably the same motors, only being redirected towards individual customer purchase and not the '06 Charger R/T waiting in the assembly line.

What happened to your 5.7 fuel injected project?

I couldent get the tranny in right(wrong angle), so new Motor mounts and that dident work with all, so then its cutting in the car and that i dont want. And then it was the electrical since i wanted it to run like stock with all functions(had everything from lights back to the fusebox) and when this guy wanted to buy it for 5k and i found a carb 5.7L for 5k i gave up...
Now the plan is 727 and plug and play style....

"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."
