I was looking into scottrade. Anyone using them?

I do. They do a great job. And the prices are very reasonable.

I use TD Ameritrade. I started with Datek before they were bought out. No complaints so far after 8 years.

I work with a guy who uses scottrade and is very happy with them. I went to there website and was going to open up an account but never got around to it.

I think $2,000 is the minimum starting balance for equity accounts and $1,000 for IRA's.  There might be some specials from time to time though.

I recently moved the IRAs to Scottrade.  Don't trade actively though, yet.  Also subscribe to the Investor's Business Daily.

Need to invest in some stocks, but which ones??

Im a little skeptical in them myself as I dont know much about day trading. About a year or 2 ago my friend at work told me to purchase some of this stock in Energy Conversion devices. Ticker is ENER. Check out the history of it in the last 2 years.Wish I bought when he said to.

I play with biotechs and medical stocks. It is not for the faint of heart and don't use money you can't live without because it can be a roller coaster.  :scared:

My wife and I have our retirement stuff in more conservative mutual funds, etc. through our employers.

i use merril lynch broker but i tell him what i wantto do.i bought paycheck years ago and it split 6 times for me and i sold it today because i bought another house.i bought cisco sys in 1989 and it split 9 times and sold it after it went to 80 a shars. also bought xreox and lost kodak and lost google and won.and a bunch of other stocksbought and sold but i am still way ahead.charger490
