Exhaust heat doesn't seem to bother the plastic rear valances on newer cars. There has been no negative effect on my '04 Neon R/T in 31,000 miles.

On the heat thing...we had a 3 series beemer in the shop a while back.It had a small spoiler under the rear bumper, the exhaust tip was about 6 inches behind it and the plastic melted away, literally, within minutes.
I fixed the bumper, put on a longer exhaust tip so it sticks out a bit and altough it's very close to the valance it doesn't warp, bolt it too close an the paint will bubble and peel. The real heat comes straight out of the pipe, not too hot around the pipe itself.
Was that clear ? I'm a little tired.

As for the fiberglass warping near the exhaust...
I have Quadtips on my other car running about 1/2" from fiberglass no warpage or delaminating (granted not the valance in question though...)

Talked with Dorsey Helm today. He is out of rear valances, but he is willing to make more providing we make it worth his time. He feels that if we had orders for 10 he would take his molds to the guy who hand makes the actual valences.   The valance's would be dual exhaust cut outs. The mold was made with a NOS valance (without the bumper gaurd cutouts). He is estimating the price at $140-150 plus shipping. It has been well over a year since he had any made, so he is not sure of the exact price. He says the lead time can be as much as 6 weeks maybe more. If you are interested in purchasing one (or more) let me know and I will try and coordinate getting them made. Again we need 10 and he will do it. Prices listed now are ballpark, and are pending what the glass guy says.   He told me he believes he is the only one in the US that has molds to make these (Gen 3 dual exhaust valances).   If you want one with the bumper cutouts you will have to cut them out yourself.

Any takers?

Just an FYI, and as an alternative; we can convert your steel straight valance into a factory dual exhaust piece for both the Charger and Roadrunner.  Chargers run $250 and RR's are $150.    Gary@Dayclona

I recieved The last fiberglass valance from Dorsy this week...It's good and fit is fine so I can say that it's worth $150 if you elect to go that route. I'll post some pictures when it's painted and installed

Why is it that everytime parts are sold for Chargers and Road Runners be it Hoods, Valances or whatever the Charger is always more?

I have seen the valences that Gary,and Mike modify at Dayclona,Gary started doing them for his own 71 Chargers,and Road Runners. (He has some kinda fetish with those 71 B bodies) But Mike,Al, and myself tell him all the time how much better the 68-70 B bodies are! But back to the valences,and Mike made up the tool to press the exhaust openings into the valence. you cannot tell the original from the modified one! I have seen both side by side! As is the case with most of Dayclonas parts!

I will likely make new thread trying to get 10 commitments to the making of new fiberglass ones, and will prefer to keep the subj on the fiberglass ones in that thread. Gary if I had my origional valance I would consider having you punch it out, however it was destroyed, hence my need for a "new" piece.

Here this pictures I promised. Everything fit up nice and I'm happy. I covered the bumperette opening since my car came without 'em. Only suggestion is don't worry about the valance cost...start saving for the tips! I could have bought a Mobile home in Northern Mississippi for the cost of those things!!!

Bill,  that valance really looks great.

As far as the PG classic exhaust tips,from the pics of them that i have seen on ebay,  i personally wouldn`t buy them. They dont look right, they look like cheap imitations.
