Does anyone like any of the new Chrysler line up this year?

I would like to buy a new Chrysler car or truck, but looking at reliability and resale; Chrysler is pretty poor. Well, just not Chrysler, GM and Ford are just as bad. Looks like to me that Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus and Nissan/Infiniti are the way to go. I all for supporing our country, but I have to look out for my best interests as well. Reliability and resale, there is no comparison. If I had the cash, I would drive just 68 to 73 MoPars every day! What you you think?

resale aside I have not had alot of problems w/my Chrysler products. my familly owns, Ram, Durango, T/C minvan and the quality keeps getting better with every new model. The dealerships don't offer good resale trade in for them but I won't trade the in until after 100k miles so it's mute

Had good luck with Buick's and the Lacrosse is priced about $21,000 if you don't get any extras-comes with hands free phone too. We got one gets around 25 miles highway & city combine. Our 2000 Century lasted 186,000 miles but yeah the trans got rebuilt once and the fuel pump was changed to. I baby it with oil changes and other stuff.

Oh, forgot I would check out the long wheelbase 300 if I was looking for a car and the mega cab if a truck.

ford trucks Fseries dont loose that much value, or Dodge diesels/cummins, if maintained properly will last forever too.

Resale value is just some more smoke they blow up your ass.   If you buy a good vehicle why would you want to sell it later used?    Yeah them resale value on those Dodges is poor.   How much has resale went up on the Chargers we all own on this forum???  See what I mean. You trade a vehicle in no matter what it is the first few years you lose no matter what it is.

99% of the vehicles made out there today are throw away cars. Buy em, Drive em and use them up and throw them away. Very few are going to be classics and I doubt there will be many forums 30 years from now with people discussing cars of today.


As for the Mopar line up I have personally had a Ram (Bought new and still have it 11 years later)  2000 Neon that was a great car and totaled in a wreck. A 2003 Stratus that gave us no problems what so ever but was too small for family needs as a baby arrived.   We currently have a 2007 Caliber and its been a great car to have.  I also own a Honda Prelude that has been a great little car. Runs greats but the car its self is falling apart around the motor and transmission. Resale on it?  500$ if I am lucky.

With the exception of GM trucks I have seen a lot of their cars have lots of problems before they are paid off.

What experience I have with Ford is seeing other people  the trucks seem to be doing ok and Fords smaller car line ups seem to be ok. I have noticed the other name brands giving fits with some things. I know of 2 Ford Escorts with 250000+ miles on the and still running just fine.

I work for the railroad and there are many many Jeep products out there ranging from The Grand C to the Liberty and they all get driven a lot everyday and sometimes in rough conditions and there hasnt been any problems.


Pick a vehicle and price range to fit your needs.    Use it and take care of it and it will probably give you long life.

how could you consider a ricer man. get a dodge or GM truck. i road in a 01 Z71 gmc and it rides better than a Buick.

I have an 04 Ram QuadCab, this is my SIXTH Dodge truck and I LOVE it. I am a big guy so I drive trucks as drivers, I have my two Chargers and am a Happy man!
The Ram has power (Hemi YEAH BABY!) VERY comfortable seats, plenty of room, Gas mileage is not terrible and the Rams built since 94 have a GREAT reputation, with REALLY high marks for the diesel (IF you need a 3/4 or 1 Ton truck) and the Hemi and even 4.7 trucks. Plus with my size, a rice burner is just not practical, comfort is NON EXISTENT!

The Magnum, 300 and YES Charger all have great reliability and quality, they are also EXTREMELY comfortable!

If you are going to buy a Nagasaki Nut bucket, just remember, I worked at a dealer that carried Dodge Lexus and Infiniti vehicles, I saw several of the high dollar rice burners needing engine replacement and such. I also saw plenty of quality issues and electrical problems. (talk about a nightmare, Ever loked at a Q45?)

The "japanese quality" banner does not mean what it once did! Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans are suffering from problems. Toyota v6s tend to eat head gaskets and Hondas are showing an appetite for transmissions.  The Nissan Titan eats brake rotors! The full sized Japanese trucks are not very impressive, I have 60 more horsepower than the Toyota or Nissan and paid less. My Dad has driven both Tundras and Titans, and after he drove my Ram last week, he made the comment that it was a LOT nicer truck than the Jap trucks and had better power as well.

If you want a small car, look at the Caliber and the PT Cruiser, My mom had a Cruiser, GREAT LITTLE CAR! My Mother in Law has a Ford 500 and that is a NICE comfortable car! We have a 99 Ford Taurus Wagon with 157k on it and it is still a great car.

Don't overlook Chrysler (OR GM or FORD for that matter).

NONE of them are worth all that much used, just try to sell one, it's TOO EASY to BUY a new car now. A car is ONLY worth what somebody will pay for it.

Besides, you don't have to buy new, look at a car a year or two old that is a lease turn in. You can get GOOD deals that way. My truck is like new but was 14k less than a new one and I got an 8 year 80k warranty! It also only had about 20k on it.   Chrysler now has the "Certified Pre Owned" program, If you don't like the car within 30 days you can take it back! That is confidence in a product, and this is on USED vehicles.

Think about it before you plunk down hard earned money. Buy something you like versus something that has "trade in value".

I still support North American companies & workers 
500,000 k on my 89 Cummins so far & counting yes I fix it but it doesn`t cost much to fix , I will drive this truck until there is nothing left

Well, if I was going to buy a new car I would do it soon.  i just heard on the news yesterday that the feds are forcing the automakers to install yet another  expensive nonsense item. All cars will soon be made with electronic stability control as standard. Another reason NOT to buy a new car and get another old one!
