These '06 photochops are getting a bit trite. I just wish it would all go away.

I feel the same way with regards to all the pissing and moaning about the fact that DCX put out a four door sedan and named it a Charger.    :D

I like ingenuity and effort on the many attempts made to change & improve the look. But as mentioned above, it's getting old and there is only so much you can do with what you started with. Many attempts are just like what I call "Mr. Potato" design work. Just plug in pieces of the second generation Charger on the new magnum body. Same song and dance...... :yesnod:

I guess the term "putting lipstick on a pig" kinda covers it.  :icon_smile_big:

That's probably why you haven't seen me "pissing and moaning" about it lately. :-*

It's a well-done photochop though.
At the height of the 2006 Charger discussions, we had some long threads discussing some photochops that didn't look as carefully done as that one.

And unfortunately, the front grille in the photochop is exactly what would never make the cut to a modern car.  The aerodynamics of a 2nd-gen Charger front end are just way too messy.  They'd have to try and come up with something that looks similar at a glance but doesn't actually involve those big recessed areas that the old grilles had.  (Check out the 2005 Mustang's front end, for example.  The current designers at Ford consider that '05 Mustang front end to be a TOTAL concession to styling over function.  And it's still a lot cleaner than the 1960s front ends.)

Nope, I wish the new "charger" would just go away.

All things considered, it still looks better than the one at the dealer right now.
