THE CHARGER PUNK

TruckDriver

I'm watching it now just to see where it ends up. That is exactly what my 1st Charger was. But mine was in a LOT better shape. This thing needs a ton of work. Almost looks like it sat in a pool of water for a long time. :P

I would say is more rare the perucharger one... 74 SE 318 with 4 speeds tranny. How many 318s with 4 speeds have you known ? I have known about some 360, 400, and 440 with 4 speeds, but not 318s.

Even more rare would be a 225 with 3 manual speeds on column :P

I like a lot the gold/tan interior... similar to PaulG car... SMOOOOKIN.

funny is the 80s Charger/Daytonas wheel on it

Thats funny.... both the seller and the current high bidder are members here. I had the pleasure to look at the car in person this past wednesday. I won a different auction from the seller, but looked at the car when i was there to pick up my item. I was quite tempted to
buy it on the spot. I only passed on it because  i have recently sold off ALL my 73-74 parts.

dangit I was watching that one to and waiting to bid now that its known I might as well forget it.

I owned a 74 Rallye Charger with factory 318 and 4 speed pistol grip.
It also had the Brougham interior, Aztec cloth inserts in the seats, rear defrost, etc etc.

It was a legit car. i think I still have a copy of the broadcast sheet. Last I knew it was in New York.

well now 2 if we count the perucharger74 on what is an SE... one Rallye and one SE hehehe.

Even better YOUR ONE is THE SECOND ONE Rallye or hardtop/coupe with brougham interior I have known, now its interior is on my car. The donor was brougham White interior with aztec cloth, rear deffog etc... Buckets. I recovered completelly white.

WAIT, IT COULD BE THE SAME CAR... NY is not so far from Canada... was brown or bronze or something like that ? I have the ORIGINAL Buildsheet somewhere. I'll check. What was the VIN ?

anyway, I'm not in production numbers. all what I have known is by internet itself.

Well I hope my former car wasn't parted out. It was too nice + solid + good driving for that. But it was Aztec Gold exterior paint with black 1/2 vinyl roof.
If someone parted it, that is a real shame, and they are stupid.

They did make 74 Charger's with 440's but the one you looked at was originally a 400 4bbl. The "P" in the 5th place on the VIN tells you that it is a 400 where a "U" would be a 440 car.

You`ve got a lot of work ahead of you ;D  :yesnod: :yesnod:  Of course the hood and rear valance alone are worth what you are paying for the car. I looked at the auction several times at work today, thinking about sniping it. In the end i managed to resist. Of course you could always go the easy route and  rebody it :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :smilielol:

I found out today from the guy I bought my Charger from where I can get a complete numbers matching '70 Gran Cuda with a 318 with 40,000 original miles, console, and overhead console for $5,000. that has sat for a bunch of years in the desert in northern Arizona. But I dont have the money :'(  It is a original Sassy Grass green (now dark green), white top and interiour car. Guess in a couple of weeks, if the guy doesnt sell it, it's going on Ebay.

Im tripping over the bulge hoods I have now. I always wanted a 73-74 rallye. I hope the seller gets back to me real soon. I have the 688$ in my hand now. Our jeep and trailer are ready for a road trip to Tenn.

Good luck with it, its going to need LOTS of work and money. Then some more money.  :smilielol:  Don`t get me wrong, i dont think it was misrepresented or anything like that but it basically needs everything. I think that was stated in the ebay ad. I did notice that the roof looked nice and solid.  You`d be wise to keep an eye out for a parts car or two. Too bad i got rid of all my 73-74 parts awhile back. You probably could have used a bunch of what i more or less gave away.  Is is rare? Yes... Is it worth saving? Yes.... But make no mistake, its a MAJOR project. Tell the truth Terry, how many cars have you got in the backyard now?  :smilielol: :smilielol:  BTW, i have a pair of 72`s that will probably be looking for new homes soon. They are well broken in as lawn ornanments. Want a couple more?  :smilielol: :smilielol: I`m planning on ditching both of my
318 cars and acquiring a big block 72 car, maybe another Rallye,  that needs little to nothing.

Do you expect him to complete the transaction?  It looks like he was going to cancel the auction if he didn't get $1500 but he never did that.  Just curious to see if he weasels out on you.  Keep us posted.

I was thinking the same thing.

It's always funny watching a flipper get mad because he's not getting the bids he was hoping for. From the auction:

"I just can't believe that I am not getting more interest in this rare car!!! The hood on the car is worth almost the current bid! I have a standing offer of $1,500, but I did not want to let the car go that cheaply, so I have listed it on ebay for the 4th and final time. I am going to cancel the auction when it gets down to one hour remaining and sell the car to the person who has offered me $1,500 unless the bids reach that level. You are missing out on a real deal here!!!"

I dont think hes a flipper, just think his attention is somewhere else. I have done the same thing. I currently own a maverick im gonna put up for sale soon because I changed my mind about what I wanted to do...again.

As was the seller,  I am surprised that the car didn`t generate more bids than it did. I hope  i don`t offend anyone by making the comparison, but the rusty 72 charger 318/bench car out of Ohio that might be a "72 bengal charger" generated more bidding than this (1 of 94)  74 Rallye 360 4 speed car. To me, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The hood, dual exhaust rear valance, bucket seats, and 4 speed pedals are worth $1400 alone.

WM23N1

I think the problem was the seller was very honest about the condition of the car. He didnt try to hide anything and provided lots of pictures. To most poeple this is a car needing way to much work to fool with. My 71 super bee is in about the same shape.

good score in my book, and if any of those bulge hoods need a new home, give me a holller!

Goldfinger71

Sometimes people also get scared of cars that not only need work but "get spooked"with they see a car in peices.Plus when a car is listed on Ebay 3 times or more, bidders start asking themselves "why didn't this car sell all the other previous times. :Twocents:
Good Luck WM'!...................now get to work on it!.....or at least your Superbee!.......Your webpage is starting to bore me!(lol!) :icon_smile_tongue:
