i thought it was a real good film have not seen it for a few years though .  not trying to hijack this thread   there was  another similar  film ,if i remember correctly about Junior Jonson. with old grand national film clips used . i think ( Geoff Bridges ) acted the part of junior    a few good shots of GN chargers  by memory
