Hey guys,

Ive always wondered, but never gotten a real answer... What were the cutouts on a non-exhaust-cutout rear valence for? (Right infront of the bumperets), right where that opening is is also a strutural piece with two threaded clips.

I dont see any real purpose and was thinking of doing a dual-exhaust cutout valence and patching up these cut-outs...

Thanks in advance.

those cut outs are for lower bumperets reinforcements brackets that bolts on frame rails

Hmm, my bumperets only attach to the bumper (maybe someone removed the supports?)

ar your deluxe chromed kind ones ?... those are attached with a bolt to the bumper guard chrome. You can se a nut welded on it.

Lower bracket rubber ones are part of bumper guard assembly, so unless they were cut, they are there.

My Charger was a Deluxe model, so Im assuming the Deluxe bumperets came with it? I removed the back bumper a few weeks ago, just remove the bolts on the brackets which attach to the back section of the trunk (believe there were 4 on each side) and off came the bumper with bumperets... You dont have a picture of a original setup do you?

not for 73... I have 74 ones what are slightly different.

Look at your chrome guard and you will notice the hole and nut welded below the guard. There attachs a straight reinforcement.

If you notice down your car ( if is still there ) there is a somekind of bracket at the end of frame rail to make an "offset" bolting point from frame rail place to attach the lower reinforcement, since guards aren't aligned with frame rails.

74 reinforcements are curved ones to arrive up from guard up to frame rail and bolt directly without an extra bracket.

mridolfo

I had the support brackets in my hand last night. When I get home I take a picture and post it. The should  be two brackets that bolt to the frame and 2 8 inch long straps? that connect the bumped guards to the frame brackets.
