kinda interesting... that finally,..  after all these years...  :P

A former schoolteacher was arrested Wednesday in Thailand in the slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey — a surprise breakthrough in a lurid, decade-old murder mystery that had cast a cloud of suspicion over her parents.

Federal officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the suspect as John Mark Karr, a 42-year-old American, and one law enforcement official told The Associated Press that Boulder police had tracked him down online.

The Ramsey family's attorney in Atlanta pronounced the arrest vindication for JonBenet's parents, John and Patsy Ramsey. Patsy Ramsey died of ovarian cancer on June 24.

If it does turn out that the parents or brother had nothing to do with it, that will be a shock to so many people who always "knew" the family had something to do with it.

I seen he's -the suspect-is a 2nd grade school teacher, news briefing at 4pm est. tomorrow

Welp...I was one of the people who was sure the Ramseys were guilty...Maybe I should write them a letter of apology.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I thought the Father did it, then I thought maybe the 9 year old brother. I plan on watching this one. Like to know if the suspect was a teacher at her school .

dodge freak

I just seen in the oversea's web site  www.thesun.co.uk  that the suspect was e-mailing the parents on how he abused their daughter before she died.

Must be some sort of nut, then again anybody who could kill a little girl is a nut to begin with.

we just discovered he was a teacher here at a catholic girls school..  :-\

Time to fire up ol' sparky.
Aww, come on, if it turns out he is guilty, we all need to have pity for people like him, after all, maybe a pigeon crapped on his twinkie or something when he was 12. Or maybe he was targeted by a school bully at one time, or his dad, actually (shudder) spanked him when he was a kid. Gosh, isnt it great showing liberal compassion? now if being that way only addressed real issues and problems... :'(
It's funny how "ol Sparky" actually prevented repeat offenders isnt it?

dodge freak

Who knows what happen to him ? Besides northing's going to bring JonBenet back and killing another person still won't either. Like to know if he is guilty if or more likely what the heck else has he done ? It also sounds like he was bragging about doing it and thats how he got caught.
The police screwed up big time its looking like, if the parents were not so rich they may have been lock up for it. This is why people need to be proven guilty, you can not always show that someone else did it. Thats how Mexican law is, once you are arrest YOU have to prove you did not do it. Some people would like that law over here, no way.

All you ever hear about in the media is how the police screwed this or that case up. I dont believe thats usually true, I think it's usually the media/public screwing up the cases for the innocent and helping them for the guilty. That, and some unscrupulous attorneys knowing they are defending the guilty...(think the OJ & Lizzie Borden fiascos) Yes, being proven guilty is paramount, but lets not forget that damning evidence should play a very large part of that conviction. I dont know if this is the guy or if he's some nutjob either. I dont really see the parents financial status as being a factor in not ever being convicted. And true, a conviction or execution isnt going to bring back the victim, but it does promote what's that old antiquated term? Oh yea, JUSTICE....that, and the elimination of worry that the guilty will EVER do something like that again...Its time once again for this country to start leaning a little more toward tough justice and quit pandering to the human rights groups and evil people just for the sake of political correctness. Mexican law? no. just justice thank you, thats all I (and many, many, many others) ask for... :flame:

I dont think this guy in Thailand did it. I still think the father is a "person of interest". DNA on her under garments will confirm if this guy overseas is connected or not.

Maybe he is a nut-his ex-wife claims they were together in Alabama that day JonBenet died.

There's been plenty of cases where the wrong guy has been locked up for the past 15-20 years and DNA test prove someone else did it and all those guys have all been poor, thats why I think being rich enough to get good lawyers help keep the Innocent as well as guilty folks from jail . Not sure what can be done, but just locking people up first before they are proven guilty I don't agree with. If he did do it then of course he should never be set free and maybe just maybe deserve to die, but they-the courts- better be dam sure he is the one.

My two cents is that I'm SICK of the whole thing.  I was sick of it ten years ago.

It's disgusting to think about a little girl getting dressed up by her parents like that and paraded around like a piece of meat in a situation that plenty of GROWN MATURE WOMEN still don't feel comfortable with.

It's disgusting to think of some slimeball killing her after doing God-knows-what with her body for his sick disgusting reasons.

And it's disgusting to think of talking-head reporters working for sh*tty news outlets making a profit out of repeatedly putting that family's horrible tragedy into my mind whether I wanted to hear about it or not.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I wish the media covering it would all just die under very mysterious circumstances.
It could be like King Tut's tomb in the 1920s . . . when some evil curse or a deady bacterial microbe or something seemed to be killing everyone involved in opening the tomb one way or another.

Man, if some force would just silently sweep over the nation, killing everyone who ever covered the Ramsey case . . . sure wouldn't bother me if that particular mystery never got solved.

Well having lived in Bangkok and knowing what area of town that he was arrested in, I'd say that he is definately a person who has commited a few crimes. Just a generilization but if anyone else here has ever been in Bangkok they know about the Patpong area of town. Lets just say its not where you'd want to stay if you wanted to remain disease free, or drug free.

Some may be sick of the whole thing...but my two year old stepbrother was murdered in Mission Viejo ten years ago...this month after spending the summer with us.  Once this little girl was found dead the media switched over to her case.

We are still waiting for answers in our case...I think the mother and stepfather of his knows what is going on.  The police just told us they did not want another OJ Simpson case...they wanted to make sure they had enough evidence to nail my stepbrother's killer.

As for the Ramsey case...I have my doubts this guy is the one.  Only time will tell.  But with our family...knowing that maybe...just maybe this will being some pressure to close the case of my two year old stepbrother.

Not one reporter has asked in lew of the contradictions in evidence and hearsay (wife and brother's statements on his whereabouts that day), why did he admit to it if he didn't do it? Looking for attention?

I have seen in the last almost 10 years over a dozen people claimed they are the one who killed that little girl.  :rotz:

And some people thought some of us on here are nuts sometimes , they haven't seen nothing I guess.

Well even if hes not the one, people are talking about it again, not sure what good it do. Think the cops might think it won't hurt.

Thats how Mexican law is, once you are arrest YOU have to prove you did not do it.

or if they want to bypass legal formalities, they will tell you you are free to go and then shoot you for trying to escape.

Lastest news is DNA does NOT match ! What a nut-not sure what the cops should do with him. In Iran I think they would cut his tongue off , usually I am against stuff like that but in this case it might be perfect.

Sounds like he was heading for the slammer over there and wanted a free ticket back to the USA.

it's too neat, he looks to creepy.  Am I the only one who thinks this whole thing stinks?  This guy looks so freaking guilty and the fact that he has been in contact with some bottom feeder investigative reporter from boulder really puts the stink on him.

I will go out on a limb and say this screwball did not do this crime.  Any grown man who goes to bancock unless he's got a damn good reason is surely guilty of something, but maybe not this particular crime.

man, I hope the DNA matches him and I am wrong, at least then we can stop hearing about it. If they ever find who did it, odds are he will look like the damn prom king and all of his neighbors/friends will say they cannot believe he did it.
