Mopar Hood Mounted Tach, what is the story?

Do any of you know anything about the hood mounted tach that was sold through the dealerships Hustle Stuff departments?  How did they mount on the hood?  Did you have to drill holes?  I was told a company called dixco made them, the same folks that made the GM hood tachs.  Any information would be appreciated.

i have only seen one on a advert. back in the day i think it was the "WIDE BOOTS" GOODYEAR Ad. with the red chargers with their scallops painted white,.. a very stricking ad as I recall,. i think the chargers a HEMI!  :yesnod: i may have seen it on the web and i'll try and post a link..
the Baldwin Motion Chevies had em as well as a cuda showcar a '67 I belive,. it might ave been a Rodenberry car..

You do have to drill holes and they are pretty much the same as the one offered by Pontiac.

If you go to the Aero Cars section and look at the `MISTAKE on the Charger 500`, theres a picture of a Daytona with one on it. My AAR Cuda has one on it also ( Sorry no pics, no camera.). There are some good pictures also at; www.tachman.com , who at some stage is going to end up restoring mine...

I have a 74 USA brochure where it appears that tach as optional equipment

My brother had on like that on his'70 Bee.  It  was a dealer option and looked great on his car, which was that red-orange with white guts and white C stripe on the quarters.  Pistol grip car.  So clean you could eat off it, and he sold it about 12 years ago for 11.5 K.  I wonder what it would go for now.
