73/74 Charger - Exterior Window Trim

quick question...I looked thru some of my old parts and noticed that the exterior trim is different between them - some of them are stainless while others look like they are white metal (very light material).  I was under the impression that all window trim was stainless steel - does anyone know if there were two different trim metals used?  Thanks...

I think some are aluminum that is plated and some are stainless. not sure when and which the differences occur.
