Oh It's been awhile,..
Ten years just a bout, since the light of day,.. Saw a spider big as my thumb nail...  :o

O.K. Submitted for your concideration are some pics of my custom hood scoop circa 1986-87.
I have an extrat set of hood springs but never continued with the project because of an opp. for a one month Europien Vac. to Greece, Turkey, England and Scotland, (Of course I went!) and caused me to shelve the project, I was also unhappy at the time with the Mesh Too Fine and wrinkely and the three rivits on top,..
..some cracking of the bondo has occured but i am now thinking of painting the top and the indentations Organisol but having the center buldge that dissapears into the scoop,  body color...
BTW: I don't like hood pins myself preferring the Chargers' unique clean hood lines.
The Scoop is a genaric fiberglass model from the JC Whitney Catalog.  :P
Anyhow I never seen one before or since, and would discribe it as approx the same size and shape of the 1970 Trans Am shaker shape but about 2 inches wider.
the best view to see this  is probably from the back, because it's black Lacquer hella shiney and had some incredable compound curves...
more parts from the past to come..

Ok Gentlemen,..
I will await your replies...

I like it! It's different, yet cool. I especially like the Charger logo idea.

Are you gonna slap it on your Charger for a while?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

It's not a bad scoop, but I like the look of the stock hood.

I don't like it.  Ruins a perfectly good hood line.  Besides, with the indentations in the stock hood still there, its like wearing a plad shirt with stripe pants.  :blush2:  It just doesn't work.

I think big hood scoops could look good on a Charger, but only on a flat hood.  I've seen some a few years back (fiberglass aftermarkets) that had big scoops on them without the indentations of the stock hood.

that's funny, I have never seen any 2nd gen hood, aftermarket, steel, or glass, with OUT the indentations and the ridge.

the indentations and ridge look good on a stock hood, but should not be there with any kind of scoop.  showcars advertises a charger hood with openings that look like a challenger hood, looks cool, but never heard of anyone who runs one.

tan top

looks good  :scratchchin:  different  ,  put  it on & run it for a wile , take advantage of extra hood clearance and slap a high rise intake on the 440 :drive:

This sorta pertains ( :icon_smile_tongue:), this is member Black and Blown's car.
There's no center ridge & the indentation is one piece...one indentation. Kinda funky, but not in a bad way.

i had never noticed that his center bump was gone, sweet, I Love That Car!

terrible one

That's pretty cool Strat.

I personally think it would look better without the mesh.

Silver R/T

It doesnt look bad, not sure about emblem on there though. One on the grille should be sufficient enough

:iagree: the two stock indents run one way, the scoop runs the other way.   Doesn't quite work for me.
1968 Charger -currently spread all over my garage!

THE CHARGER PUNK

well, if you own a 1970 charger , you can get a 70 coronet hood and get the superbird filelr panel and use a superbird hood on a 1970 charger or daytona clone, and put whatever scoop u want on that flat hood-MATT
