I spotted a 70 charger 500 real car.  Here are some of the options:
Original 383 4bbl motor just redone to factory look and specs, D21 4 spd car with wood grain console, power windows, Red with black vinyl roof and black interior, small radiator, fender tag is there, Broadcast sheet is there, tic toc tac, 323 sure grip, Chrome tips .  Paint is respectable(driver quality) with light rocker rust.  The car is very presentable and could be driven a few years before a repaint.   I am looking to add to the collection but don't know the rarity or value of the 1970 500's.  I can buy it for mid 20's.   Any input is helpful.   Doc

Do not confuse the '69 500's with the 70's. The 69's are VERY rare while the '70 version was a trim option for the standard Charger........in other words they made a lot of them at the time.

Any chance you can post the VIN?

I didn't memorize the whole thing.  All I know is XP29N0G

They made 1335 383 4 speed 500's according to the '70 Registry so it is a good find. My brother in law is restoring a hemi orange 383 4 speed 500 right now.

69,   I thought that 23k cash on Sat at the Nats was fair.   We were 2k apart and he took it home.  Should I come up the 2k.  Y or N

It is always hard to give a value without seeing the car. The thing about the Nats is that not everyone will bring that kind of cash or might want to think about it for a few days and follow up with the owner later just like you. The other thing is that original 4 speed Chargers always bring a premium over the automatic versions.

I would say that a nice numbers matching '70 383 4 speed in a good color like red would be worth somewhere around the 25K range....less would always be better of course.
