Are there differences in the aftermarket gas tanks that are available or are they all made by the same manufacturer?  The pricing seems to range from 135 to 210 or so.

Don't know for sure but I know there's a company up in Canada that makes a lot of repro gas tanks. Some are probably made in Taiwan or China too. I got mine from Mustangs Unlimited on Ebay. They are a great company and the part is quality. I paid $170 with shipping but it looks like they raised the price $10 since then.

when i fitted a new Chrysler  tank  to my 69  i had to re bend the welded flange on the new tank ( were bent in the wrong place) where straps run to match the original tank other wise the straps were to short.

The Mustangs Unlimited tank was not bent when I installed it but it bent in the correct place as I installed it.

I bought two from Mustangs Unlimited. Both times they arrived super fast and they both were actually shipped by these guys, not drop shipped by the manufacturer (not to say that is always the case).
