hi,
as most of you probably know i am building a 500Ci stroker for my street/strip car.  i currently have a brand new weiand tunnel ram with brand new Holley 650 double pumpers will milled off choke horns.  now do you guys think i should use my tunnel ran setup or go with the single plane intake with a 4500 Holley 750 cfm.  if it matters i will have hopefully a 4.10 gear, 2800 stall, e performer heads, and a 528 lift cam.   thanks alot i really appreciate all of your ideas thus far.

Hey Zach
What valve sizes are you using on the heads?  Are you going fully ported?  What about the exhaust?  Dual carbs are tougher to tune.  I would have the final tune done on a dyno so that you get the most out of the setup?   Did you run this setup on a computer program for the potential hp and torque?

Sounds like a lot of fun.

Robert,
I plan on doing a mild porting job with the 1.81 and 2.14 size valves, mat spend a little extra to get the 1.88 and 2.19 valve upgrade.  right now i am using stock dual exhaust with manifolds but i am planning on running tti 2 inch primaries with 3.5'' collectors all the way through.  also do you know a website where i can use the computer program you're talking about, and will the tunnel ram take away alot of my torque at low rpm for stop light to stoplight power.

P.S.  thanks alot this will help me out more than you can imagine

The larger valves are needed with a tunnel ram.  You are trying to force more air into the system.  Are you running muffller and cutouts (so that you can by pass the muffler when you want to launch).  The heads are the key for unleashing hp and torque.  Go with a full port and polish on the heads.  You will have approximately 450 ft/lbs torque and 200 hp at 2000 rpms,  650+ ft/lbs of torque and 600 hp at 5000 rpms.  Hang on real tight.  :icon_smile_big:

What compression are you leaning towards?  10.5 to 11.0 will allow you to run pump gas.  You will need a stronger/better rod to handle this much torque.  I would use a msd 6al for the ignition.  Fuel, Air, Flow, and tires.  What are you planning for the transmission, rear axle and tires?  You will be breaking parts.

robert,
i am using a trans through ati the street strip with a reverse manual valvebodie.  i am running muffler cut outs hopefully electric :icon_smile_big:.  the compresion i am going for is 11.5 ( i have some nitro i will add to the gas to up the octane rating :icon_smile_cool:.  also the tires are 10.5 X 29  and my rear end is currentley a 8 3/4 with a soon to be 4.10, and looking around for a 9 3/4.  thanks alot
