i need a solution as to how to mount a tach and which tach to use from you  Third gen.  guys...
simple is better and i dont really wanna drill holes of disfigure the Road Runner...
I test mounted the crappy chromed VDO Tach behind the wheel and beside and below the ashtray,.. not only didn't it fit,.. but it looked like complete junk.
i'd like to use all black guages with orange pointers if possible.
if ya' have pics they would be nice, and non injurous mounting ideas too please.
thanks!

ps:
it's a three on the tree,.. so that's a factor too...  :-\

well i had given some thought to using the optional guages but only the tach is re-bopped and cost a crap load of $, 187.oo the other guages the two double temp/fuel amps. water temp would still have to be found and installed..  :-\ i think i'd rather keep it stock and just add the tach,.. I actually even have an original mopar tach but it's been promised to a friend...
i'm lookng at the autometer street tach AM2894 and the autometer z series aux guages..

if you don't have accesories down the dash frame ( rear deffog switch for example ), the other option could it be just right that area, at a side of the hood release handle. there is already holes there, You only would need  to match the meters location holes ones to the existant ones down the framewith a nut.... or maybe selftapping screws.

Advantage is that already the cluster ilumination source is around that area. ( orange rubber plug )

Another option... build a baseplate with somekind of clip to don't open holes on frame, and clip it down the Radio.

thanks natcho, what's the panel above the Aux. gauges?.. Optional map light?.. can i run the wires thru there and have the tach hang?..
cause i have the Coloum shift (how the hell ya spell that word anyways?.  :shruggy:)

Do you mean THIS one:
( I think pic talks by itself, altought is a standart  cluster )

Yes you can run wires up there.. there is holes on dash pad to run wires up to insert... and if not, is just open them with a knife since chanel is there, just need to make a cut out on internal vacuumed vinyl. If you have that insert, then you have the fasten seatbelt light there right ? then holes to wires are already there.
