i keep seeing all the threads about hood clearance on the second gen chargers and it has me a little concerned. would like to know if a edelbrock performer rpm manifold with a demon 850, 4 inch AIR FILTER with 1 and a half inch drop base will clear my hood on a 69 charger? the distance from valley pan to top of air cleaner is 12 and a half inches.

with the drop base cleaner...it will fit,  but I'd reduce down to a 3 inch element.....need room for the butterfly  y'know

:iagree: It will fit with a 14x3 filter and 1.25 drop base. K&N makes a nice filter assembly with a flow thru top that fits the bill, perfectly.
