I don't think any amount of complaining on our part can stop the rampant brown-nosing on the part of writers regarding modern cars. I'd just be happy if they'd replace the occasional use of the term "muscle car" with "sedan" when they write about the '06.

well this is the SRT/8 approx equivalant to the HEMI Charger of yore,..

"Yore"?...

i been spending too much time on the Viking site...   :smash:

hmmm

those wheels are different than the ones that come on SXT's / R/T's.

I still can't make up my mind about wheels. Saw an white one rollin on 22" black wheels. It looked killer. On the other hand, that set up will run me $2000. When I was getting prices at the tire place, they told me they had a brand new "take off" set of stock R/T wheels w/ tires they'd let me have for $450, but although they're kinda cool, they're also mundane looking.

decisions, decisions.

Paint the R/T wheels black.   :icon_smile_cool:

wouldnt that look kinda tacky? unless I got them powder coated...but that can get expensive too.

do those big'uns void the warranty?..

I wouldn't think so, since changing wheels isnt an irreversible / permanent mod . I have to go by the dealer tomorrow and I'll ask them about that.

22 are too much for an altima. LX cars, on the other hand, pretty much scream for Double Deuces.

I would go smaller if there was an old school wheel type (Torq Thrusts- type) that would fit. Ive been looking everywhere and they only come in 4.5" or 5" bolt patterns...no 115 mm's.

Dude, I drove a flat black/flamed Caddy with the top sawzall'd off.  Tacky is my middle name, bro.

...seriously, if it was prepped right it would look pretty good.  I know serveral people that have painted facotry wheels with rustoleum spraycans, and it looks a ton better than I was expecting.

Mojo your car might look good with some "bullrun" font numbers on the doors.

I was actually thinking about red rally stripes. The question is...vinyl or painted?

Defintely vinyl. A heat gun will take vinyl off if you change your mind.

That's the upside. The downside is that during the summer, the San Fernando Valley is a heat gun. It's in a covered parking spot 90% of the time, but still.

I'm no expert but I believe it would have to get much hotter than that to screw up vinyl. I know at work we have a Snap-On heat gun that gets up to around 450-degrees and it takes about that much to remove vinyl stickers. I doubt the manufacturers of that stuff would want to exclude a customer base as big as the southwest United States.

I'll have to look into that. The vinyl stripes are cheap enough (about $80) + installation.
