Howdy,

When I bought my 69 it did not come with the proper keys to put into tne ignition to start the car.  But the previous owner bought a newer ingition switch. (see below)

Now I went on yr1 and did not see a switch for a 69.  They had 60-68 the 71 and up.  I compare the one I hve and the one in the pic and it looks to be the same as the 68.  Will it still work???

Has anyone replaced one before.  Perhaps some words of wisdom to make the job a bit easier.

Thx

69 is an only one year model, similar to earliers but bigger cilinder. 70 and laters are complete different sicne are column mounted

If you need just the electrical stuff, the switch itself, not cilnder, ask to Troy, he must have still some available that I sent sometime ago.

I need key with the switch so that I turn the car on.  It seems that's what I have but for an older model.  You are right in that the cylinder is bigger.  When I was looking last night it just didn't seem right.
Would Troy have the switch and the key??
If no key is there a way for one to be made from just the switch??
If so where??

68 switch is smaller, my 69 parts car had a 68 switch in it when I bought it, and it wouldn't fit in the mounting hole on dash, It just hanged down under dash, when ever i needed to start it (before dissassembly) I would grab the switch with one hand and turn key with the other, lol. If you have a switch any locksmith can make you a key just look in your yellow pages.

Awesome.  I have the switch in the dash.  I assume orignal.  just no key.  I will lookup a lock smith.

Wow. So the one to the right is the '69? If so, I've got a '69 switch in my '68. I would have never known it!

No the one on the left is the 69 switch.
