Well our gas jumped up this morning from $3.59 to as much a $6.00/gal for regular :o if you can find it that is. People are panicing and running out to fill up before it goes up again and just about everywhere around here is running out of gas. :rotz:

North Alabama, same thing happened here Friday. Some moron started a rumor that gas was gonna be 5-6 bucks a gallon because of the hurricane.

So Friday gas prices started going stupid. Yesterday they had already started falling, and today they are about normal at EXXON stations, others don't have prices posted.

My truck takes PLUS (89 octane) and it has been 3.50-3.60 but because of the idiots, yesterday I had to use SUPER at 4.25 per!

As far as an "excuse" to drive prices up, all it takes is for a mouse to F@RT near a gas pump and it will start going up!  They are crooks and you can quote me!

Profiteering from something like this is INEXCUSABLE.

I do have to give a hand to the "kangaroo" chain, they stood their ground, as did the Wal Marts that I saw, and as a result they were extremely busy.
FWIW I commend these two places for NO taking a cheap shot at their customers.

Watching on the news a few days ago, OPEC said that because world prices have dipped below a calculated requiremnt for them to become filthy rich, they are cutting back production.  :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

How do they have the right to do that? :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode: :RantExplode:

Ummmm, let's see..oh yeah....it's THEIR oil. Not yours.

I understand that. :yesnod: BUT, its the fact that they know the entire world is paying high prices, and they choose to scale back production. They are already the richest area on earth, with the richest people on earth.

What you dont understand is that the whole world isnt paying high prices.....most of the world ,Yes but not all....and besides that alot of the other countries get alot more for thier money than we do..ie insurance, etc!

  I was going to type "All it takes is a butterfly farting in China to to effect gas prices in the U.S." But decided against it. Thats weird you typed basically what I was thinking.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Manfred318

Its dropped back to $3.99 from as much as $6.00/reg. There have been multiple subpoenas against station owners in the area over the last few days because of the gouging prices. :2thumbs: If they are found guilty they face a $5k fine and a possible loss of their licence. :nana:

Yep.....half the stations here in South Ga are empty it seems. Gas is any where from 3.99 to 4.29.............and they don't seem to be in any hurry to fill them which keeps the price inflated.

Crooks.

all that and then oil futures skyrocketed $16 a barrel today. funny it dropped almost $50 a barrel over the last couple months, but gas is 20 cents higher right now than it was a month ago. and surely will go up much faster now that they have an inkling futures will be higher. we are all getting raped, sad to say

I was a little p-o'd the other day when gas in a city a few miles from here was averaging about 1.09 per litre ($4.13 a gallon) and gas here was closer to 1.15 per litre ($4.35 a gallon).

Same chain of stations too.

I'm tempted to start making border runs every other week. That used to be the norm back in the 80's. It is again for some. I just can't commit the time.... yet.

We are at $3.42 in northern Minnesota but I read this morning that prices in the twin cities with the exception of a few stations that are trying to earn a fat Christmas bonus have dropped below $3.00
