Since I posted this morning the price just jumped another 6 cents/gal and I was just told (by a friend that is friends with a gas station owner) that it is due to go up another 18 cents this afternoon.  I was also told that oil is actually dropping. ????

$2.96 is the cheapest to be found near baton rouge. lower than most of you, but totally absurd.. didn't oil get to $70 a barrel last summer and right now it's like $66? does that make any sense?

Saw on the news a couple nights ago that it's because refining capacity is down because of break-downs, fires, etc.... lack of supply (?) and increased summer demand..... that and ever-increasing oil company greed, anyway. I'd like to ask one of these sleazy oil co. execs when the hell they're going to start plowing these record profits into improving the refineries instead of into their fat bonus accounts.... 3.059 in southern NH, BTW.... :flame:

It's never gonna happen, because the oil companies blame the tree huggers for stopping them from building refineries.  SHHHH... let's not make it political Troy will have a fit

TeeWJay426

But it's not even a matter of building NEW ones.... it's getting the ones they already have repaired and operating once again to full capacity! But that would cut into the profits if they did that.... :cussing:
