It seems like everybody I know is always able to recite exactly what they just paid for gasoline the last time they filled up.
They all have opinions about why it's high, how unfair it is to certain Americans, who caused it, and who's really getting the money.

But for some reason, nobody complains much about the price of health care, or the price/shortage of smaller houses & apartments, or the natural-gas prices that have gone up so dramatically . . .

as a homeowner you seem to notice prices going up more on more things than renter. Gallon of milk went up, postage went up, my house taxes/insurance went up, utilities (water/energy/trash, etc)
It all depends on gas though that's why everyone seems to complain about gas prices more than any of the above listed. If price wasn't so high nothing else listed above would've went up so much. All of the people that provide listed above use gas to deliver your goods to you.

Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

WTF is with the gas prices jumping this time!? I haven't heard anything about a reason for it this time. Two days ago it was $3.08 in most places here. Yesterday it went up to 3.18 in most places. Today it went to 3.25 for regular in a lot of places.  :rotz:  One of our drivers heard on the radio today that it will be around 3.50 a gallon for regular by the end of the week. But they didn't give a reason for it. It is getting to the point I might have to sell my Charger just to buy gas to get to and from work :P

Watched a "story" on this last night.  I believe it was on MSNBC.  The newscast was saying..........

that we have no impending (sp?) huge threat, no hurricanes brewing out in the ocean and no plant shutdowns, no threat of OPEC cutting production and higher inventories.  Yet prices are up 40% this year alone.  So what will happen when a hurricane comes, or a plant issue that slows production......are we headed to $5.00 a gallon?...... YES we are....only becasue the public has become accustomed to paying $3.00 a gallon and the oil companies are used to making record profits.  Until we the public show the oil companies that we are no longer going to pay the record high prices, they will continue to go up.  Once the public slows its use, or finds an another source of fuel........$5.00 a gallon here we come, LIKE IT OR NOT!!  :brickwall:

I am wondering what is going on to.  We are back up to $3.19 from $2.85 about two weeks ago??

Spike

Driving to Carlisle and back, gas on the turnpike was around $2.91. Get to Michigan and gas is $ 3.23 a gallon. :brickwall:

Manfred318

Jumped up around here around 12 cents per gal yesterday from $2.77 to $2.89 :rotz:

It's been $2.95 for the last week at my local filling hole...was $3.09 the week before that.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Today, gas jumped from $3.09 to $3.39

I just found this on another board:

BP's massive refinery in Whiting, Indiana is again mostly/partially
shut down as a leak has been discovered in a pipeline.

I uncovered this information about two days ago, but had to verify it
myself and find the reason. I was able to find the reason today. We've
seen prices jump to $3.25 today and I can't see prices going anywhere
but up the rest of the summer. By the time BP gets its act together,
we'll be in the active part of hurricane season.

It's all a friggin' joke! and I've had about a butt-full!  :flame:

why was it that for years and years with hurricanes blowin', pipelines rupturing, natural disaster this and price of oil that....we never saw such a drastic increase? somethings gotta change. I've cut back on my driving waaaaaaaay too much. whatever happened to the "American way of life?"

greedy-assed sumbitches! yup. that about sums it up....  :soapbox: :horse: :stirthepot:
