If you want to keep your family-run pot-growing business a secret, keep the babbling naked man inside the house.   :smilielol:

This was in the local paper here. It never fails to amaze me just how dumb a human can be.

Robert Ferranti's Monday afternoon romp in the raw through a quiet, secluded neighborhood in this southern Orange County hamlet led police to a bigger haul later that night. But first, Woodbury cops received a 911 call about a naked man on East View Road. Officers arrived to find a nude, combative 35-year-old Ferranti.

Ferranti rolled around on the pavement. He babbled incoherently. He punched a cop in the face, Sgt. Clifford Weeks said.

Pepper spray did nothing to calm Ferranti, police said. He was eventually subdued and taken to the Cornwall campus of St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and a mental health evaluation.

Police continued their investigation, which led them to the front door of 75 East View Road about 11 p.m., armed with a search warrant.

Ferranti shares that rented home with Michael P. Cody and his two children - Deirdre, 26, and Michael, 25. The contemporary house on a cul-de-sac is hidden by overgrowth and large trees.

Inside the home, police said they found a sophisticated marijuana-growing operation. Rooms throughout the house were converted into growing spaces, drying areas and storage for the weed, Weeks said.

"They were growing so much and storing so much, the odor was overwhelming," Weeks said. "For this town, it was a good-sized operation."

Police seized five pounds of pot packaged for sale, $10,000 in cash, a 3-foot-tall hookah, and a cache of martial arts weapons, including nunchaku sticks, knives, daggers and swords, Weeks said. Police also found a copy of a magazine dedicated to the illegal gardening.

Police arrested the Cody family and charged them each with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony. They were all released yesterday morning from Orange County Jail on $5,000 bail each. Deirdre Cody answered the door at the house yesterday and said neither she nor her father wanted to comment.

Ferranti was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, felonies; and resisting arrest and public lewdness, misdemeanors.

He was being held in Orange County Jail yesterday on $10,000 bail.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office and state police assisted Woodbury police in the investigation, which continues.

Not their smartest move!  Sooner or later, you'll usually get caught.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
