Starter splash shield???  Is this for automatic cars only?  I have never seen a splash shield for my starter motor on my bellhousing.

Brian it attaches to the lower (bottom) of the drivers frame on the area by the starter, it is metal w/a rubber area around were the steering rods pass thru it.  John.   I do not know it manuals got it.

John,

I have no clue what it still looks like.  I have never seen one before.  The only thing in the area of the starter under it that I have seen has been on Daytonas which I just thought it would have been for aerodynamics.

Do you have a pic of one?

Also, how is the engine job going?

Starter Splash Shield, I need to buy some of those correct bolts, they are impossible to find, I have
looked for four years on cars every one takes them off.

Awww crap!  Don't tell me that came on my car too?!?!?!?  Don't ya just hate having a puzzle (your car) and just about when you think you have all the pieces to the picture and your done, you realize there is still a couple pieces missing??? :rotz:  Well, if I do need it, at least it is still available.

Seriously, did the starter motors have a heat shield originally from the factory??

Brain, I don't think our Chargers should have that starter heat shield. I think it might be a Hemi or later model thing.Notice its listed for 66-83.What part do you know that fits all those years.NONE!  Ron

resq302

Ron,

Im pretty sure the starter motors were all the same and used during that period, no?  Maybe Im wrong.
