Hi Guys,
I'm restoring my 68 and plan on keeping the column shifted automatic.  Only problem is a previous owner hacked up the column so he could put a floor shifter in.  So, I have no idea what the PRND21 indicator looks like  Is it a black or white face?  is the needle and face behind a lense?  Does it actually say PRND21 or is it PRND12L or something like that?? ???
Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry I don't have any pics, but I just took a look for you...I have an unrestored '68 R/T.

Mine reads "P_RND21."  There's a small space between P and R.  Also, it is white background with black letters that are mounted to, what appears to be a clear plastic/acrylic.  The needle is in front of the face (mine is orange/red).

So it goes (front to back):
- needle
- clear piece with black lettering
- white background

I hope I didn't make that too confusing.  I'm sure someone will have pics. ;)

Did the previous owner put the console brackets in? I am trying to convert my column shifted '68 to a console shifted. If he did put the brackets in, and you would like to get rid of them, let me know and we can work something out.

I will try to get pictures of my column shifted auto for your reference tomarrow.

Hi Chris, I'm afraid there is nothing left.  It was a real hack job from what I can surmise.  The hole in the floor for the cable to run through was put there by drilling a hundred holes with a drill and them pushing a piece of the hump out.   ::)
It's good for a laugh to see and I'm sure it was functional but what a hack!  :icon_smile_blackeye:

Hey Ottawa charger how's it going, I see how you spend your lunch breaks.
I have a steering column out of my 69 you can have (no charge). From what I can remember its in pretty good shape, next time I'm at the body shop I will have look at it.

Back 'N Black - that would be great! (and very much appreciated!)  :yesnod:

Chris & 8 Wheeler - those are great!  Thank you very much!  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:
Brock - it was a surprise for me too.  I just deduced that because the gauges were white on black, the gear indicator would be as well.  Go figure.
