carb question

my carb is being really wired.... it was running fine a week ago then all of a suden my engine started flooding wen it idled and wen i turned it on. then i noticed way to much gas going in... like almost a 1 inch squirt and i dunno wat up .... and i dunno how to tune a carb..yet.. but can u guys help out or give some pointers on hoe to tune thnx. i will be very gratefull

My first guess would be a stuck float or dirt under the needle.  Some advocate a gentle tap in that area of the carb to free it.  Personally, I'd open it up and make sure everything is good.

I agree, there could be a small piece of dirt stuck between the needle and seat.

Try clamping off the fuel line, then starting the car and running the carb out of gas.   That will allow the float to drop and usually remove whatever was between the needle and seat.  If that fixes the problem you have a pretty good idea of what was wrong and can decide if you want to go further into the carb.

ok so i was doing wat u guys told me to do about clamping thje fuel line , but it just kept ong doing the same thing over so i decide to clean the gas tank ......adn i found like about an inch of mud that had been siting the gas tank . i was like holy hell! i cleaned out adn blew out the fuel ling with a air compressor and my brother was looking and the back while the fuel line was off and he said all this junk came flying out of it . so now i got a clean gas tank and fuel line adn i bout a new gas filter after i had just bought the new one so i was being percatious and just bought a new one , since the one i had recently bought probably had junk in it.
