They're going to cut my throat! to replace a ruptured disk, so I can use my left arm again.  Then I can take new pictures of my two charger's underside, floorpans and other areas and post them.  Hope I get it fixed, and have less pain, or kroak! I just want to be able to work again.

Thanks bigblock4speedman

Geez, that sounds pretty scary.  It makes me feel alot better about the surgery I am having on tuesday (I have been pretty freaked out the last few days) because I am just having my gall bladder removed.  Good luck.

Best of luck.  Are you getting the replacement disk instead of fusion?  My back surgery was on June 27 to fuse L4/L5.  My legs were going away fast and now those symptoms are gone.  I do have a fare amount of back pain that I did not have prior to the surgery.

I ask about the replacement disk but was told that at my age it was more risky.  For the lower back they go in through the abdominal area and have to move a lot of large arteries and the stomach out of the way for a number of hours and that is hard on us older folks.

I am very happy that I had surgery and with everything going well you will be too.

Thanks everyone!  I got surgery on tuesday and can feel my left arm again!  I'lll have to wear this thick collar to recover about six weeks.  I think it's a good thing I done, they replaced dick between 6and 7 and I can tell that I'll be able to work soon.  Just have to kick back a few weeks so it heals right, then I'll be able to do things again, my thriat and neck hurt pretty bad, but that will get better and I can make and post some new pictures.

Thanks again good people bigblock4speedman

Glad to hear you're feeling better already...Don't overdo things during your rehab; nothing like setting yourself back a few weeks (or worse) just when things are getting better.

Glad to hear the surgery went well! Take your time on recovery, even thou you feel great and feel like doing things that might possibly set you back. Drugs will do wonders in masking pain - I know when I had shoulder surgery and on the third day I was reaching for things high in the cabinet!! The next doctors visit I got yelled at by my Doc cause my lovely wife ratted me out - she threw me right under the bus! :yesnod:

Jeff,
Who did your surgery?  Did you have the replacement disk or did they fuse it?  You didn't mention your hip hurting from the piece of bone that they need for the fusion, so I was just curious.  They want to do the same surgury on me, but I told them to hold off.  I am getting tired of losing the use of my left arm and losing most of the feeling in it.  Let me know.

Thanks again everyone!  Recovery is ROUGH!  I hate staying in and doing nothing! but must be done, at least I can feel my left arm again so I'll listen to everybody and recover like I'm supposed to so I don't screw anything up.  I didn't go through all that and loose my zz topp beard for nothing!  I appreciate everyone's prayers and support very much!  I'll be able to post new pictures in five or six weeks if I havent sold the Chargers by then.  Now I have to recover, get through the legal mess I'm in and get back into living again!  Looking forward to it.

I forgot in the post I just done, for enyone who might need to know, they used a bone from the bone bank to replace the disk, they say it's better than having two places that have to heal.  It seems to work well, I think.  I already have enough pain, I'm sure glad they didn't make another pain in the butt to deal with too!!!  Dr. Sleshinger, hope I spelled it right, did the surgery.  They say he's the best Nero-surgern in Arkansas.  If anyone needs info email jdshepherds@sbcglobal.net
