Just a question...

Was the cassette player able to record anything ? I know drives a microphone but I'm wondering because the radio pigtail drives in and also OUTS LINES from Radio. Also drives power.

I'm working on an adaptor to use the pigtail to insert new stereos systems ( including power source ), like MP3 players, Ipods, discmans... Is just find the correct plug what it calls DIN. those plugs are easily found on Radio Shack and similar dealers.

I'm also working on replace Audio power transistors to get more audio power. I think stock power is around 5 watts on the best optioned Radio... I will feel happy enough with around 8-10 watts rate :D without insert a power plant.

With just a female DIN plug and multi wire cord, I can make the adaptor including the power source

I'll keep you updated. :D

To my knowledge, the factory setup only worked off of the microphone as you pointed out Natcho.  Both of the modifications you are proposing sound like something that could prove to be popular.  Better keep detailed records so everyone will be able to consult the "Natcho radio upgrade". :icon_smile_big:
Good luck.

sure!!! really is not a big deal. Just match the right output transistor with the Radio system. Line in stuff is even more easier.

Right now I'm thinking the line in and out on cassette player is just because the cassette player contains the selector switch, more than the record stuff.

However, if Radio doesn't have plugged the cassette then  Radio plays by default doesn't ? so, why the in and out on Radio for the selector purpouse...

sorry, just thinking louder
