Rear bumper guard mounting on '69 Charger- where?

Well, after remounting my rear bumper on my '69 Charger the other day (after having removed it a few years ago when I tore down the body to rebuild),   I went to attach the bolts that go thru the bottom mount on each of the bumper guards.    When I looked under the car where I thought the bolts would go,  I noticed that instead of a hole in the rear crosspiece,  there was a wide, shallow notch there.      Certainly not anything that looks like it could hold a bolt.    Looking in the manual wasn't much help other than it verified that some sort of bolt was to go there, but no mention of exactly where it goes or how it was held in was mentioned.

Does anyone know how these guards bolt to the frame?   Or better yet, does anyone have any pics of their car with these bolts in place?

Thanks!

Sounds like you are missing the brackets that bolt to the back end of your frame rails and have the J-nut that your back bumper guards attach to. I would take pics of mine, but my car is in the body shop right now.

Hmm- so there's a crossbracket that bolts to the frame rails?    By any chance does this same bracket also provide a spot to attach the exhaust pipe/tip hangers that go on the R/Ts?

I definately would like to see pics of this.....

Not really a cross bracket, but 2 brackets, one for each side, and yes, it is what the tip hangers attach to on the cars with the chrome tips. I'm surprised nobody else posted pics yet. I searched my computer for pics, but couldn't find anything.

Here's a pic of what I'm looking at- maybe this will help explain (click on thumbnail for closeup):

dayumnn....  thanks for the url!   Nice site!  I took a look around on that resto page but didn't see anything that shows how that guard mounts.    However it does answer a question I had been wondering- I AM missing the brackets for the chrome tips.   As you can see in my pic the original exhaust is long gone and someone in the past had stuck in a exhaust setup from a 383 car.    It doesn't look though that the same bracket would hold both the tip bracket and the bumper guard mount (they're too far apart from each other to do that),   so I'm still at a loss about that....

Here's a pic that I borrowed from the same site tan top found. The brackets you need are at the lower end of the pic. You can see the holes where the u-nuts for the bumper guards go.

Oh I see!   Dang.... I'm definately missing those brackets  :'(   Guess I'll have to find a set then.

Thanks, guys!

P.S.  If anyone knows where I can find a set of those brackets from a '69 Charger for sale, please email me!
