Someone posted this picture on a recent thread and I grabbed it 'cause I like it. Just wondering now about some history on the car. Was it originally black? Is it a real T/A or a clone? There couldn't have been very many original black T/A Challengers. I think I heard Troy say there was like two or four or something. What did you tell me Troy?

I have not seen that photo before, but it appears to be Ken P's T/A. If so, it is legit. There is no way to know how many black T/As were made, but 13 are known so far.

I was working at a Mopar Restoration shop in Detroit in 1999-2000 when a guy pulls up in a unrestored original 1970 Black T/A. I say WHOOOAAA, Thats only one of 3 made. Hes said Really? Ah, Duh, Ahhh, Oh yeah I knew that. Being Rusty it needed a Resto so I figured I'd help him to a Full Blown Rotisserrie job. In the meantime he joined the T/A Registry & told me only 11 known, His was the only one known to exist with his options. Out of the 11 known, 9 were 4 speeds & 2 automatics, 1 console shift & his Column shift. That was way back in 2000 so those figures could have changed in past 5-6 years. LEON.

There is still only one black T/A known with column shift.  ;)
