How do you tell the difference between a 383 and 440 by just looking at it?

The 440  has a stamp pad on the top front pf the block kinda behind the thermostat housing by the driver side head.   The 383 has a stamp pad sorta underneath the distributor by the passenger side head.

if you have seen both no matter if at different moments, you will notice 440 is wider ( around 2" ) because stroke/block is taller, so is not hard to notice
