A good friend of mine brought me this box of parts today out of his basement. He asked me what they were off of and I really have no idea. I would guess from a 67-69 Roadrunner but not sure. I wish the gage cluster was from a 3rd gen Charger because that sucker is almost mint and has a tac! :flame:

Thanks!

Another............

Ghoste

Man, that's an E-body Rallye cluster!  Somebody out there wants it bad.

73ChargerSE

Looks like the tailight is a '70 'Cuda.  The hood inserts could be from something like a '69 GTX or RR.

Brock Samson

i'd say a '68 plymouth cause the hood indents were on the side that year as per them insert style, the '69s were a top opening mesh style...

69charger2002

yeah what he has there is a $400-500 rallye e body cluster.. not bad for a basement save
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

They all belong to a 67 Road Runner, what are you guys talking about?   :P

Ghoste

Ahh, give him a break.  72Rallye440, there were no 1967 Road Runners, the model began with the 1968 model year.
The taillights are 70 Cuda and the inserts would be for a 68 GTX as you couldn't get a 440 in the Road Runner in 68.  I'm not sure if you could get it in the Sport Sattelite but I don't think so.

72Rallye440

Ghoste thanks for backing me up!  :yesnod: It could have been off a 42 Roadrunner for all I know, not my fortea.

262chargers- Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I'm hoping to get to the point that I don't have to ever post a question and I will just someday know it all............................can ya relate?

I think the instrument cluster in a '42 Roadrunner was a bit different and I think the tach was mounted on the hood.   ;)

well now we know, funny how I had to dust off my brain and still, forgot the rr was limited to the two engines in '68,
i forget the sales figures but the rr sold several times the expectations and made Motor Trends' CAR of The Year in 1968 and 1971!
the '68s' decals were in black and white even...

And what was the Road Runner very nearly named?..   :icon_smile_big:

Wasn't it La Mancha?

Ghoste

It was La Mancha.  Actually it was Car of the Year in 69.  In 68 I think it was the GTO, wasn't it?

Yep the "La Mancha"  it was to be,..
intill the Exec. walked in on his little girl watching cartoons one sat morning.. and had a better Idea.
i read the tooling was allready made for the name...

Different Mags. had different recipents for their various Car Of The Year awards... the Plymouth Sats. won Car Crafts in '71...
as opposed to the earlier Motor Trend Award...
I remember the cougar won in '67.

Thanks everyone for the help. As you know the parts aren't mine and I'm selling them for a friend. The kid is 16 and works for my parents business. I know several of you have asked me about buying the gages. He asked me to put them on E-bay for him, he's saving money for his first hot rod. I can't really blame him but if there is anyone that wants to talk to him please send me a private message and I will give you his phone number.

    Thanks,
