I wouldn't do it, but I don't like TAs.

I was at an ICA collector car auction today and a 69 charger RT 440 conssole 4 speed DANA that was pretty darn nice sold for $29,000.  A 1970 Trans Am 455 4 speed went through and sold for $35,000 ish.  The T/A's are good property, but I agree that the 79 better be VERY nice, legit, (4 speed a BIG plus) to be worth it.  They will go no where but up in value.  Your charger is SWEET.  BTW, I have a 68 and 69 charger and a 77 SE trans am.  I am into the market of both.  Just my 2 cents worth.

Not for a 79 TA, if it was a earlier version in the same shape then I might think of it. However if my Charger looked like yours I doubt I would trade it off..instead sell it outright on Evil-bay.

Someone with a SD 455, a real one, wouldn't trade for a RT clone.

BTW the super duty was in 73 and 74 only.

I have owned a 79 Trans Am and drove it daily for 4 years and LOVED IT!!!!  And I now I drive a 98 TA LS1 for a daily driver.   BUT   I would never trade that nice of a charger for that 79 TA Anniversary car.  I was expecting your charger to be in worse shape than that but its WAY to nice to trade for a TA.  But thats just my expert opinion.   ;)  HAHA

You guys are all traitors.....i can't believe this "Poncho" luvfest we have here on a Charger board  :D

Truth be told, i like em too and a Pontiac is the only non mopar musclecar i'd ever consider owning. No bird though....it would have to be a 66 tri-power 4spd Goat.....black/black.

To the original poster ; i personally don't ever see a late model bird having the desirability of any 60's musclecar, let alone a Charger. The early T/A's (70-71) were cool with lots of spoilers, air dams and a shaker  :icon_smile_cool: but....the "anniversary edition" just isn't in the same league.   :Twocents:

I agree I would take a Goat heres my 64 matching tri power 4 speed just sold my 65 442 Convertible to get the money needed for the restoration . I wont let my charger go gets tons of compliments
