Just returned from San Diego and i got to admit i was pleastly surprised.  I went to California with some pri notions and was pleastly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Was only there for a few days but everyone was so nice, mexicans included, that I would return again.  Went to the harbor Sunday and took the 2 hour boat tour and then went on the USS MIDWAY, enough said. That was my second tour. Also went on the USS NORTH CAROLINA just north of myrtle beach a few years ago. For those of you you who have never been on a navy ship that is for tour please go, It will give you such and understanding of the sacrifices people have, and continue to make for our great country. Got to tell you this. While I was on the boat tour me and my wife saw the cemetary on the hill overlooking the harbor. The cruise captain told us it was a military cemetary much like Arlington in Washington DC. Well lator in the day me and my wife went up to the cemetary to pay are respects to those who have fallen for our freedom. We were just ready to leave when we went by the main entrance to the cemetary and there was a monument there with and inscription. I read that and it was the Gettsysburge address. A short but deeply moving speech. I was just turning to go to back to the car when at 6:00 pm taps played on the loudspeaker and I tell you taps at a place like, if that dosent tear you up you are not human. Anyways just saying that I enjoyed my trip to San Diego, Thanks

My home town, but as you can see I left it for KANSAS!  :icon_smile_big:

Great place to grow up in the 60ds, 70ds and 80ds, but there is nothing for me there now.

The city is corrupt, there are mostly service industry or military work there, and high tech. Very expensive to live there.

The only 1/4 mile drag is long gone.

On the good side, the best Mexican food ever, these people in the Mid West have no clue.
That includes you Texas folks too.  :-X

i gotta make that my new signature line.

but yeah...the USS Midway kicks ass. I was there about a month ago. I wanna go back though, since we were there with the princess' parents and her mom kept complaining about the heat and whatnot so we kinda had to rush through it.
