It's supposed to get 70 mpg. It would have to get at least 200 mpg before I'd buy something so ugly, let alone ride in it. Everyone has their price.

Just think-20-30 years from now, people might talk about how "fast" all the new cars were back in 2005.  Well thats where it seems to be going, I hope I am wrong.

In all fairness, though, what car in this niche IS good looking?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Good point, but now I can honestly say there is something uglier than a Prious.

Well I say it looks better than a Smart car. But it looks like its for 10 year old kids to drive, can't see a grown man driving it. Looks like it has 13" wheels too. Yes the kids would love to drive it.

Guys, its not anything that DCX is even considering producing.  Its a design study, that's all.  They did it in order to see if the "blowfish" design is feasible for use in automotive design as it seems to be almost perfect aerodynamically.

I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

Well that's good news.

If I'm buying something to get 70 mpg, they can make it as ugly as they want.

Once you pass about 35 mpg, it's absolutely polishing a turd to try to make anything cool about it.  Time to "embrace the horror."
Just gimme the car for a couple thousand bucks less and leave it ugly.

For every good man that is born, another good man must die.  Yet somehow the
factory keeps pumping out losers and we have no idea how to get rid of them.

Like I said, everyone has their price. ;D

Chryco Psycho

I saw an article on it I guess it was designed after a fish with a virtually identical shape , it is supposed to be stupid clean in the air with a very low CD
Having said that I would pay  lot more to drive sometyhing that looks great with similar areo dynamic properties like a Charger Daytona

Severely ugly, but if the money saved on daily transportation is put into the weekend pot for driving real cars, well.......... :icon_smile_big:

In this case though, maybe not. Just too off-the-wall. However in 10-15 years it will fit right in.
