I recieved a shipment from summit today. The shipping box was in good shape, no extreme "dents" on the box or anything.

I opened it up and the box of the bench grinder I ordered was severely smashed in. Obviously this box was smashed BEFORE it was put in the shipping box and sent out. I just called to make sure I could open the grinder box and check for damage and still be able to return it if it were, in fact, damaged.

I wasn't complaining about anything, just wanted to make sure. The guy apologized for the problem a few times and then asked me what shirt size I wear. They're gonna send me a T-shirt just for that. That's pretty cool.

It's rare nowadays to get good quality products, great customer service, and solid prices all from the same store.

I am now a summit racing customer for life.

:yesnod:

Edit: The bench grinder works fine.  ;D

I had good things to say about Summit too. Order MSD super spark plug wires pre-fit for my small block. Well I deiced to check the resistance with a ohm meter and 2 wire were a liitle high 180 ohms other same length where 125 ohm's so I told them. They sent another set so I could pick a few out that I needed and return the other set. They gave me $10 refund for me having to ship it back-cost me $5 to send it back. So I saved $5 and got 16 wires to pick out 8 lowest resistance wire's from. Not too bad

The bad is their sales guy's are dumb sometimes-well more often it seems.  Not sure if some of them even know how to open a hood of a car.

I have everything good to say about them too. When I ordered a bunch of stuff for my Charger this spring, I ordered a Milidon high flow thermostat. They ended up sending me one for a Chevy. When I called them to tell them, They said we will get you the right one and I could keep the wrong one they sent me. And, when I got the correct one in 2 days, I also got another cap and a bunch more decals.

I ordered some stuff from summitt during a UPS strike about 8 years ago.  I asked that it be shipped fedex.  well, they shipped it ups and it happened to be somehing I needed badly.  When I called to see where my stuff was, the guy on the phone gave me an attitude and actually hung up on me.  I called back and spoke to a manager.  He refunded my extra shipping and gave me a $50 gift certificate....

terrible one

I really like Summit. I order from there pretty often, and have always been satisfied. It's obvious they work for customer satisfaction more than most.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Summit rocks!

My cousin bought a water pump from them and used it for 6 months, didn't like it and sent it back. They took it back no questions asked.

I bough a set of headers that didn't fit. I dented a few tubes trying to make them fit, gave up and sent them back. They took them back no questions asked.

Summit has a warehouse in Nevada and I'm in California. Works great for me. Anything I order is in my hands next day.

If you are after OEM parts you will probably not find much but if aftermarket is good with you they are great.

I just ordered a Dual Electric Fan, controller and mounting hardware for my Charger. If its not what I expected or will work I'll just send it back.

No worries no problems.

BTW they send me hats and shirts all of the time with my orders and I never send those back.

I bought a fuel gauge from summit and it was DOA.  Sent me a new one blue label with a hat.  I was happy.   Never had a problem with Jeg's but I usually grab my Summit catalog first.

I spent thousands with them in the past, 1 part that was back ordered got me a hat, the only hat ive ever worn on a regurlar bassis, after it wore out i stopped wearing hats again, my hair still grows and i like to keep it that way so i normaly stay away from hats. a T shirt would have ben much better. they always had great customer service, but as others have said there sales guys are not all really bright they do try really hard tho. on the other hand they used to have a couple guys who knew me by name i talked to them so often. i always seemed to get passed off to the guys who i didnt confuse..there arent to many guys who know mopar and circle track so i never really expected them to really understand what i was doing. cant recall there names now.

I too have had great luck with Summit. I wish the people at Laysons would take a lesson from them. Till they do all my money is going to any body except Laysons...

Speaking of summit, has anyone had trouble ordering online from them lately? I add the item to my cart that I want to buy, then when I click "checkout" it tries to load the page for a long time, then I get the "page not available" page (or something like it). Been trying to order some stuff since saturday but it won't go through.
