Newer Stereo Install

I would like to install a newer style cd/mp3 player in my 69.  I'll probably place it in the glove compartment and keep the original 8track in the dash.  My questyion is, will i run into problems with power?  The alternator is brand new but is the original style alternator.  Will I have trouble connecting it up?

I haven't run into any trouble with the deck I put it.  I've only had it in for a few months but everything still works.  Back in the mid 90's I put an amp, box and had six other speakers running in the car and it seemed to be alright, but that's just my experience.  I pulled my factory deck out this time and put the mp3/CD player in.  The fit is identical to a din.  I had to build a custom faceplate which wasn't too difficult, everything just had to be cut exact.  The faceplate requires a couple of extra screws to hold the deck in place since the factory one is also supported by a bolt at the back of the deck.

That's the combination I have, I've had no problems.
