I thought there was already a thread about it, but I can't find it, so here I do.

Loved it! For those who have not seen it. The plot is very complex and there is some difficulty following some of the movie (I found myself explaining a lot to my wife on the drive home) but I found the movie to be just as good as the original. Action Packed, funny lines, and a lot of inside jokes from the first movie... The special effects are fantastic and the fight scenes very well choreographed! I can't wait for the 3rd!!!!

I will try to keep this as spoiler free as I can, But I just have to say this about the end.... holy $h*t! I never, ever saw that comming!!!!

I have to say I highly enjoyed this movie.  Well done and as a girl...I have been a fan of Johnny Depp's since A Nightmore on Elm Street came out...and it amazes me how he can just melt into the characters he plays nowadays.  I cannot wait for the third installment!

Saw it Saturday.     Enjoyed it.   Good special effects and action.   The very end was such a setup for a 3rd movie they should have just showed a trailer....
Anyway,   hopefully with this paycheck,  maybe Ms. Knightley can afford some implants.  :icon_smile_big:

During an interview Johnny Depp told them that before the First Pirates movie he was considered "poison" by directors. Wonder what he meant by that?

Wish you could have seen more of him in Platoon though lol.

I believe it has to do with his political vioce and living in France. But that don't mean he's a bad actor IMO. I may not agree with his beliefs. But I can still enjoy his movies.

Thanks for the nive writeup Khyron, I can't wait to see it.

I agree with Darkangel, Depp is an awesome actor. I can't really think of anything I haven't liked his acting in.
I also like Robert Downey Jr. for the same thing...too bad he's pissing his talents away with drugs. :rotz:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Another good movie...yeah he should have had a longer part, but all the same.

You know...the should have had a trailer with it...maybe when they put Dead Men's out on DVD there will be a teaser on it.

Saw it, thought it was just ok, nothing to write home about though. The first one was way better. This one seemed a little convoluted and too busy of a plot. I never mind the sci-fi elements but it seemed they kind of pushed it with the sea creature pirates a little. It's interesting, Pirates has been the ONLY thing I've ever liked Depp in. Not even in Edward Scissorhands did I like him & I usually find something good in Burtons stuff (at least Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks and Batman that is...)

I was more impressed with Superman returns. Saw it with my 19 yr old son (as is our tradition when any superhero/comic based movie comes out) I kept telling him that it was a sequel to the 70s/80's Donner films. He argued and then had to eat his words. Ha, guess the old man knows a few things....

You have to admit sea creature pirates are just as weird as skeleton priates lol...  :icon_smile_big:

Yea, I guess. I think it just kind of bothered me that I couldnt figure out what sea creatures some of them were supposed to be...the actors all did good and action was good, (it was good to see Davy Jones in that comeback role...he hasnt done much since the Monkees went of the air....) the story just somehow seemed a little waterlogged.
